There are a wide variety of Ads, but not all of them are suitable for every business. This article will talk about Ads that are most suitable or brand building less likely for customer acquisition.

TV Ads :

Think about a situation, a 41 years old man watch Game of throne, and in between TV commercials, it starts showing Ad about “ABC brand Adult Diapers.” Will it generate any curiosity, temptation, or anything except irritation?

I don’t want to hurt anyone’s sentiment, but it would be appropriate to show adult diaper ads to viewers of “The Golden Girls.”

That is what people at advertising agencies do; they plan ads based on the show’s content and who is going to watch the show.

Now advertiser reached its target audience, but the audience isn’t going to buy the product right away. Still, advertisers keep showing their ads on TV.

But Why? because they want to put “adult diapers = ABC brand adult diapers.” in viewers’ subconscious. After watching these ads multiple times, when this person will reach the medical store or superstore, he will ask for ABC brand adult diapers.

Google Display Ads :

Like TV, you can decide what kind of content you should show your Ads.

Overall, display Ads are better than TV Ads; unlike TV Ads, you can show your ads to the area, city, state, or country of your choice. In TV Ads, you don’t get that choice.

If you have a toy shop in the Tampa Bay area, you can show your ads on websites and blogs related to the toys niche (like kids products) and show Ads to people in the Tampa Bay area only. This will undoubtedly save dollars, but I still say it as brand building advertising method.

Facebook Ads :

Facebook Ads are the best of them all as we can show our ads to the targeted audience and limit it by geographic location. For example, a salon located in East Tampa will most likely not get customers from another part of Tampa. Usually, people go to saloons near to their home or work workspace, or somewhere they visit quite often.

If you have a salon for males only, With Facebook Ads, you can show your Ads to males living in East Tampa only; This is Betty of Facebook Ads. However, Facebook Ads are not good for instant sales or lead generation as people come here for entertainment, not to find saloons for haircuts.

Conclusion :

We should use this kind of advertising for brand building and as it requires lots of dollars and takes time to produce the result. But once your brand is built and customers liked the product, there is no looking back.

However, these ads are not appropriate for some businesses that require urgent attention or do not purchase frequently. Let us understand this with an example.

Think about the plumbing business. Do people need this service every day, week, or month? No, if the house is new, they will probably not need plumbing service in years. Think about a person whose kitchen tap is leaking; what he will do is search for someone who can reach the earliest and better cheapest. is this person going to repurchase plumbing service like people buy “adult diapers”. NO

I am not saying businesses like plumbing should not build a brand. They must. Instead of wasting dollars on Display Ads, TV Ads, or Facebook Ads, they should focus more on quality of service, speed of service, and possibly lower the cost of service. This will also help them build their brand.
